Hundreds of people came to enjoy the bonfire and firework event at the Barn - the first for two years due to last year's Covid restrictions. More than £2,200 was raised towards next year's firework display. The event was put on jointly by the Barn and Hickling Parish Council. Nick Baker, chairman of the Barn trustees said: 'I’ve had a number of calls and emails from people who attended, saying how good the event was and how lovely it was to be able to come out with their families with a sense of normality, for some great fireworks and a brilliant bonfire.' Councillor Dave Belsten added: 'A massive thank you to everyone involved in making last nights village fireworks such an amazing event! There have been plenty of positive comments on social media about how well-organised the event was and how people really enjoyed the fireworks and bonfire. With many of the attendees coming from outside the village it was fantastic to be able to demonstrate what a wonderful community Hickling is.'
