Apple day and quiz night coming soon
We are holding an 'Apple Day' on October 23rd at the Community Garden (on the corner of Mallard Way) between 11.30am and 2.30pm. If you have surplus apples please bring them with you (along with a container) and we will juice them into ‘Hickling Apple Juice’ which you can take home to enjoy. We will also have apple bobbing, apple pompom making and apple-themed bakes.
On November 19th there's a quiz at the Barn to celebrate our first year of community gardening. The quiz will have only a few gardening themed questions – how could we not! Teams of six, 10 tables available. Tickets are £8.00 per person and will include a ploughman’s platter for the table. Bring your own drinks. Please e-mail: email@example.com (subject header Quiz) to reserve your table.
We are also planning a village open garden trail for July 2nd, 2023. We hope have a maximum of 15 – 20 gardens open. Our aim is to raise some money for the Community Garden but more importantly for two dementia care groups – Cameo Café (run by North Walsham Dementia Support Group) and ‘Sodotdotdot’ which supports younger people with early onset dementia. If you would like your garden included, please register your interest by e-mailing: firstname.lastname@example.org(subject header – Garden Trail).
Please help us keep the site looking tidy with a bit of light weeding, dead heading and planting. You don’t have to put in hours of work to volunteer with us – just the occasional hour or so. There is a social side too - meeting up once a month to talk about what has worked and plans for the future. We also have regular working parties where we get together on site. If you are interested in joining us please e-mail:email@example.com (subject header, Volunteering).
